 Call Before You Dig 1-800-252-1166
Protect yourself and your property against underground utility damage and
liability. Find out where the underground utility lines might be buried
before you dig.
Anyone digging in Minnesota must call before digging. The person who is doing
the work is responsible for calling Gopher State One Call (GSOC). If the
owner contracts with a professional excavator to do the excavation then the
professional excavator is responsible for calling GSOC.
You (the digger) will need to provide information about the work site when
you call. Have the following ready before you call:

Street Address |

Gopher State One Call calls are all FREE because it's supported by
Minnesota's underground utility operators.

|
You should call GSOC two business days before digging.
Office hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. |

|
GSOC can only locate services that utilities have
installed. |

|
You or a private contractor will have to locate other
services such as sprinklers, power lines to a garage, or a gas grill
line. |

|
If you hire a professional excavator they are responsible
for contacting GSOC. |

|
Mark the digging area with white stakes or white spray
paint, otherwise the utility may mark your entire lot. |

|
You must hand dig within 2 feet of any utility markings to
expose the underground line. |
